Well, I’m not really on a train to CT but I wish I were. Its Sunday evening and I’m on my way to work in PA. It sucks. Big time. BIG TIME.
But I’m keeping my chin up because in one week, I’ll be heading up to CT for the ABMC Nationals. I know that there are two other Nationals rolling around too so everyone must be getting as jacked up about the event as I am.
This one is a little more special for a few reasons. My puppy will be entered and so will her momma. I’m really curious to see how that will work out because you know how puppies get when they see someone/something familiar. WHOOSH! All brains just disappear. But then again, the wind could blow and brains could be flying all over the place if Miss Thai has her ears pointed in the wrong direction.
But I’ll have another reason - I’m photographing this event and I’m really looking forward to it. I reviewed my “collection” and I’ve got over 75,000 images of Belgians. Its not a goal but given past events, I should get another 6-8,000 pics at this National. I’ve always had a slight abhorrence of the standard picture of dogs. I’ve been exploring new angles, lighting, and post processing. I’m hoping that my concentration level stays high and I’ll have a good group of photos to start with.
I’m also pleased to have a partner this year who’s photographic style is from the trend that is where I get my inspiration….the photojournalistic, real life, cinematic style that I love so much. Visit her site and you’ll see what I mean http://clarityphotography.net
She is also an ABMC Member so that makes it especially cool - Belgian people photographing Belgians. Can’t get any better than that.
I know I might be putting a challenge that I might not be able to meet but I’m hoping to photo blog this week and next week. If you are like me, I love to hear about updates and I love it even more when its accompanied by images….I’ll be posting on my site www.delriofoto.com , my kennel site www.delriokennels.com , and on the ABMC site www.malinoisclub.com
For those heading up to, in to, down to Connecticut, I’m bringing a good coffee pot, good beans, and a grinder. We’re also bringing wine [WINE not WHINE]. We were treated so well in Utah last year by newly found/met friends that we want to pass it forward.
