Travel and the Traveler

On another flight back to California.  Part of this will be business related and the balance will be to visit family.  I’m no stranger to travelling. In the past 7-8 years, I would estimate that I’m on the road about 50% of the time with major long spikes in the 80-90% range.

Although technology is wonderful, I’ve found that "staying connected" just means carrying more gear. I have my Blackberry, my iPhone, my Mac [which now runs my company's Windows based software/stuff], and an external hard drive for all my my files.  This is on top of the wires/cables, power adapter for the computer and cell phones, my personal journal, my work journal, files [yes hard copy files], eyeglasses, sunglasses, iPod, paperback, backup laptop battery, etc.  The list goes on and on.  and this is just for what I carry.  I check my luggage.  No way in hell am I lugging that all around.

American now charges $15 for the first bag.  Not the first EXTRA bag but just the first bag.  Now, let me talk through this logic.  The charge will force a larger number of people to carry on.  This will cause boarding to be even more delayed as travelers try to negotiate loading their bags onto the overhead carrying bins. This means longer lines at security as they try to get those extra NON-checked bags through security. Not to mention the unboarding at the destination.  Crazy.

I just had a very bad pulled pork sandwish ALTHOUGH the bar-b-que sauce was outstanding.  But that is nothing more than lipstick on a pig.

What’s the difference between a hockey mom, a pig, and a pit bull?  Nothing.

Out.  Catch up later.
