IS THIS THE MACBOOK AIR KILLER???
I don’t think so. The adamo [Italian for "fall in love with" according to Dell] is a straight knock off of the MacBook Pro, my laptop of choice. And even worse, in terms of design larceny, its a knock off of the OLD MacBook Pro. The main touch pad, the button layout, the aluminum construction…..I hope they did not pay anyone to do an industrial design analysis because I could have done that.
It’s called reverse engineering.
What is REALLY disappointing is that its MORE expensive than the MACBOOK AIR. Starting at $1999 its 2 bills more than the MACBOOK AIR. And it runs Windows Vista. UCK. Having Mac equipment [Two MBPs and a MacPro as well as a variety of Dell and HP laptops], I am not against Windows products but I am particular about the actual physicality and usability of my equipment.
Cluckiness in black. The adamo also comes in brushed aluminum like the Macbook Pro/Air. The ONE single design element that I like about the adamo is the top of the monitor lid. It has an interesting panel that is reminiscent of some of the other design choices for the Dell line of laptops. The adamo has a slightly larger monitor….13.3″ to 13.4″. But is this something I’m even itching to get? Nope. I think IF I were to spend that much money, it would be to get another piece of the Apple nirvana. But don’t even get me started on the iPod Shuffle….
Beauty isn’t it. MACBOOK AIR. If you are going to buy a sub-laptop that doesn’t have a garbage operating system, get the MACBOOK AIR.
