Ultimate Air Dogs

I went down to Brown’s Island [Richmond, VA] to photograph a ‘dock diving’ event. If you are not familiar with this, a handler and a dog are part of a team in which the dog attempts to leap as far out into a body of water as possible. The handler, often the owner, uses a variety of toys to get the most length out of his dog’s jump as possible. This event is run by Ultimate Air Dogs in conjunction with the United Kennel Club. The owner of the business, Milt Wilcox, also owns a Belgian Malinois [click to my doggy site].

I’m finally back from vacation and I’m currently rendering the music video for the baseball team. As a matter of course, the same images that I used for the music video can be used for the slideshow. I used a different song because the pace of the slideshow tends to be slower than the music vid.

Virginia Tribe 9U Youth Baseball

I had the distinct pleasure of photographing the Virginia Tribe baseball club. It was a beautiful day in Central Virginia and I love baseball – I was in heaven. Baseball is a game that can bring about so many highs and lows in the same 30 second time span. Tempers can flare, tears can well up in the eyes, and sometimes, we forget why we are there. I saw a lot of joy and happiness. Unfortunately it was sandwiched betweens some bumps, bruises, tears and anguish. Baseball is a great game that often reflects life. This was a real treat for me.

Went to a horse show today in Wakefield, VA. Its been about five years since Angela and I had Arabians but we still love to get out to see them and to be around them. This is a slick online service that can create slideshows to music but give it a more polished look. Some like it, some hate it. I happen to like it.

To download, right mouse click this link and choose Save As or Save To. Its a GRANDE file so be patient.

Just got done with all of my backing up of image files. I haven’t done a final image count but the total size is over 75 gigabytes. For those who don’t know a gigabyte from a gigolo … well, there is a difference.

I just re-read my last post and realized that I should not try to type and post in a moving van while I’m fighting off sleep. Just not a good idea if you want people to understand what you wrote. But I always use the excuse that I went to California public schools. Make that Southern California public schools. Enough said.

Anyway, here are a few more pictures to share. I think one group of images needs a bit of explaining. Its the photos with Carol S. leading Cheryl S. around the obedience ring. It seems that Carol needed a partner in walking the match course and Cheryl was good enough of a sport to help out. I heard there was a urination incident in the ring at some point. DQ!

There are a few images of the Beauty of the Beast booth/products. Although, I joked about the number of shirts I got from Dawn and Steve, their art and designs are no joke. They are just top notch folks and great Belgian owners. Steve even helped me out of a jam with some handy dandy tools. PLEASE visit their site!

And here’s a picture of a model to show off the logo that B of the B created for the ABMC. My model was also part of the show committee and [if you can believe this] was running herding score sheets back and forth while PUSHING A FRICKEN BABY STROLLER! Through grass and uphill. In the rain. For two days.

Now, that is one super volunteer! I even think her darling baby boy handed out trophies and made name tags……
