Thank you for coming to del Rio foto and visiting the site of Bobby Arellano, Photographer. I am a canine, portrait and event photographer located in central Virginia.
I believe in capturing all images and photos in a natural, non-posed state with the clarity and brilliance that creates a lasting impression. The world around is ultimately more interesting than anything that could be posed or staged
This blog is a running journal of my life and features images shot of various people and events. I hope you will find that my style captures the essence of the subject - no boring images here! Feel free to contact me with a story, to share a picture, or to book a session in order to capture the spirt of your dog.
I have been using two cameras whenever I’m actively shooting for specific shots [i.e. getting paid!]. I use my small zoom 24-75mm on one camera and my 70-200mm on the other. One camera [smaller lens] has your standard shoulder/neck strap and on the camera with the larger lens, I use a little handstrap deal which keeps my hand positioned and relieves some of the stress from the weight of that behemoth. Yet, its a pain when I am not shooting because it does feel as if my hand is Duck taped to the camera.
BUT…I’ve decided to get a new shoulder/neck strap. Yet, I don’t like the standard fare - I’d like to get something a little more artistic/crafty/trendy.
Found this site that has something close to what I am looking for: http://www.myfunkycamera.com/
Click on the Neck Straps link. I haven’t bought one yet because it would be REALLLLLLY cool if I could find some Belgian Shepherd or specifically, some Malinois material that could be used for the strap material. Or if it had one of my favorite bands - like a U2 camera strap. Wouldn’t that be awesome?

I just love the sport of agility. Watching it, photographing it, competing in it - it doesn’t matter. The sport just rocks. Here are a few to get you in the spirit!
I agree with both of you. Noah is just diggin’ in for all he’s worth. Very cool.

Diana Thompson -
Thats my boy Noah in the black & white photo, he is running a tunnelers course, he is crazy fast on tunnelers courses! He is digging in for all he is worth in between the tunnels, he is soooo much fun to have as a teammate, we can’t get enough of agility! Thanks Bobby for the totally aussome and different photo of my boy!

Fataah -
I really REALLY like the pic of the brown dog at top.
What a lovely capture of the sincerity in the eyes.
And, haha, I just noticed the black & white where
the dog is showing so much “try”. Gotta love it. Like they do!
Often during my trips to various dog events [and even those homo sapien events] I run into a great vendor. Truthfully, I am NOT a arts and crafts person but every once in a while I find an artist who really has strong work.
Works of Wonder is one of those artists. The art pieces are vibrant, colorful, and a bit whimsical. The first thing that popped into my head was that these pieces would make great and unique gifts or awards for a Specialty. Now, if you are looking for an exact breed representation, don’t look here. If you are looking for a 3D version of a watercolor painting [my opine only!], than this is it.
The NEW iPhone - and at half the cost! If this doesn’t make everyone drop their old cell phones to pick this new one up, I’m not sure what would. And this price is just outrageous. That’s some down and dirty business. The price? $199 - that’s much cheaper than an iPod Touch or an iPod Classic.
Took some time to today to snap a few photos of my friend Steve’s bike. We have a few folks at the office who have Harley’s and I’ve taken the opportunity to shoot two of the three.
