Thank you for coming to del Rio foto and visiting the site of Bobby Arellano, Photographer. I am a lifestyle and event photographer located in Richmond, VA and serving the nation!.
I believe in capturing memories in a natural, non-posed state with the clarity and brilliance that creates a lasting impression. The world around is ultimately more interesting than anything that could be staged
This blog is a running journal of my life and features images shot and processed by me. I hope you will find that my style captures the essence of the subject - no boring images here! Feel free to contact me to book a session or just to talk photography.
I had the pleasure of photographing a former agility classmate and competitor. Her junior dog Vickie just earned her RE and also competes in conformation - if I remember correctly, they scored a major recently.
Here are a few pics from the photoshoot held at Joseph Bryan Park in Richmond, VA.
These are the feet of winners…or is that the Feats of Winners?
Intense as all get out.
Thank you Beth and Vickie! Had a blast today!
I participated in a rescue transport yesterday and LO and BEHOLD, the volunteer we were meeting for the "pickup" owned a Laekenois! So, I took the opportunity to get a shot. Well, he was so loving and such an attention getter that he just had to be INSIDE my camera. As you can see, his owner is doubled up in the background laughing.
Just a little vid on using curves adjustment layers to add some “fill light” or to de-emphasize a background.
In order to save dial up users from the tedium of having to wait for this to load and tying up all of the other posts, please click on the READ MORE in order to load the video separately. Enjoy!
On a trip to Viriginia Beach, I had an opportunity to snap a few pictures along the boardwalk. If you ever get a chance to make it down there, I highly recommend for breakfast the restaurant Pocahontas. WONDERFUL buttermilk pancakes and service was excellent.
I have been using two cameras whenever I’m actively shooting for specific shots [i.e. getting paid!]. I use my small zoom 24-75mm on one camera and my 70-200mm on the other. One camera [smaller lens] has your standard shoulder/neck strap and on the camera with the larger lens, I use a little handstrap deal which keeps my hand positioned and relieves some of the stress from the weight of that behemoth. Yet, its a pain when I am not shooting because it does feel as if my hand is Duck taped to the camera.
BUT…I’ve decided to get a new shoulder/neck strap. Yet, I don’t like the standard fare - I’d like to get something a little more artistic/crafty/trendy.
Found this site that has something close to what I am looking for: http://www.myfunkycamera.com/
Click on the Neck Straps link. I haven’t bought one yet because it would be REALLLLLLY cool if I could find some Belgian Shepherd or specifically, some Malinois material that could be used for the strap material. Or if it had one of my favorite bands - like a U2 camera strap. Wouldn’t that be awesome?

I just love the sport of agility. Watching it, photographing it, competing in it - it doesn’t matter. The sport just rocks. Here are a few to get you in the spirit!
I agree with both of you. Noah is just diggin’ in for all he’s worth. Very cool.

Diana Thompson -
Thats my boy Noah in the black & white photo, he is running a tunnelers course, he is crazy fast on tunnelers courses! He is digging in for all he is worth in between the tunnels, he is soooo much fun to have as a teammate, we can’t get enough of agility! Thanks Bobby for the totally aussome and different photo of my boy!

Fataah -
I really REALLY like the pic of the brown dog at top.
What a lovely capture of the sincerity in the eyes.
And, haha, I just noticed the black & white where
the dog is showing so much “try”. Gotta love it. Like they do!
Often during my trips to various dog events [and even those homo sapien events] I run into a great vendor. Truthfully, I am NOT a arts and crafts person but every once in a while I find an artist who really has strong work.
Works of Wonder is one of those artists. The art pieces are vibrant, colorful, and a bit whimsical. The first thing that popped into my head was that these pieces would make great and unique gifts or awards for a Specialty. Now, if you are looking for an exact breed representation, don’t look here. If you are looking for a 3D version of a watercolor painting [my opine only!], than this is it.
The NEW iPhone - and at half the cost! If this doesn’t make everyone drop their old cell phones to pick this new one up, I’m not sure what would. And this price is just outrageous. That’s some down and dirty business. The price? $199 - that’s much cheaper than an iPod Touch or an iPod Classic.
Took some time to today to snap a few photos of my friend Steve’s bike. We have a few folks at the office who have Harley’s and I’ve taken the opportunity to shoot two of the three.
This weekend, I’m taking two of the girls to a fun disc dog event. Its been over a year and a half since I was able to participate in this type of event. Interested? Try going to www.skyhoundz.com and enjoy the following pictures from an even I shot way back when……
I’ve been out of the LA area for about 10 years. But I still love my Lakers. Almost as much as I still love the Angels.
Now the finals are just around the corner and I plan on watching all four games…..WAIT! You say its a seven game series? I don’t think so. Four games and out - Another championship for the “Lakes”.
Trading for Pau was either the biggest mid-season trade or it was the biggest boner on the face of the earth. I guess it depends on whether you’re anticipating the first game Thursday or sitting on your arse watching another Fox re-run.
Kobe is playing well. He just turns it on when he wants and he’s got alot to turn on. Poor KG….oh, well. Maybe he should have stayed in Minnie. I guess he does deserve a championship one day. Just not against the Lakes.
For my birthday, I received a new iPod. On May 2nd, approximately two weeks after receiving said new iPod, I lost it. Not only did I lose my iPod, I also lost my Toshiba Gigabeat MP3 player……but this story doesn’t end here. I had an aquaintance FIND it and RETURN it! Amazing! There are good people out in the world - Thanks, Frank!
Now that I have had it back, I’ve gone a little hog wild with loading my iPod up to capacity. Currently, I have close to 14 GB worth of shtuff on it. This includes 2595 songs and over 150 Podcasts.
Someone recently asked me what do you have on your iPod. I kind of threw out an answer because there is SOOO much that I can’t quite remember

Do not watch if you are offended by clinical references to reproductive organs. This is a video of a little dog biting a man and the owner’s pleas afterwards. I’ve been told this is quite old but its funny/sad/pathetic.
